You Can Beat Prostate Cancer

My husband-53 had an elevated PSA 14.7 Febr. 2008. An accident caused him to be in a wheelchair till June. July followed by a biopsy his psa was 13.6 Gleason 3+4.
Of course we were scared to death, unsure what to do. The urologist suggested Radical prostatectomy. I had done my research from that day in Febr. This was not an option, I never said a word, the man knew I wasn't happy. Scheduled an appointment with another urologist-this one wanted to perform external beam radiation therapy. We continued eating all organic, no red meat, no dairy, no sugar. We ate broccoli, tomatoes, flax seed everyday. Raise our own veggies/fruits/poultry. Ordered every natural book to take care of prostate cancer I could get my hands on.
Febr. 2009 follow up psa 23.7, we were doing everything by the book--what happened??
Scheduled a consultation with CTCA, 2 weeks of testing resulted in cancer on 50% of left prostate and had not progressed anywhere else. The elevated psa was a result of the catheter from surgery in Sept.08 from a followup surgery to remove one of the plates because of staph infection. Was given advice at CTCA to undergo Brachytherapy. I had a bad feeling about brachy. Was back to the computer doing my research. Thinking there has to be another option without all the side effects. I came across this book on proton therapy. Scheduled a consultation with 1 of the 5 clinics. Proton therapy is a single ray with a coil insert.
But it is still radiation.
Have since found an alternative to radiation and chemo

The Breuss Cancer Cure: Advice for the Prevention and Natural Treatment of Cancer, Leukemia and Other Seemingly Incurable Diseases

Dr. Breuss' basis for his belief in this cure and how he formulated it are pretty unclear. I find his narratives rambling. I am intrigued by his claim of 40,00 success stories using his method but have my grave doubts about the validity due to his unsupported statements and a few obvious errors. One error can be fourn in his explanation of the use of Sage Tea which he says is a powerful healing agent known as far back as the Romans. he says that to use it internally, one must boil the sage for at least three minutes in water. This, he says, is to boil away the oils which should not be taken by drinking. He also says that the long boiling will bring out the ENZYMES in the herb. Huh?? If you boil anything at 212 degrees for three minutes there are surely NO enzymes left. Maybe he had an unclear view of what enzymes are or maybe, as one health consultant told me, it is the result of a badly translated text from the German, I cannot know. But this much is clear, that for whatever reason I cannot also have confidence in the text within this book. So how can I rely on the instructions or the claims of cures? I am taking these writings in this book with a 'grain of salt' and using what I can of the juice formulas and the tea recommendations but i will have some reserve about my overall trust in the Breuss Cancer Cure. Breast Cancer and Iodine : How to Prevent and How to Survive Breast Cancer

As a RN, Medical Laboratory Technologist and breast cancer survivor, I literally read this volume in one sitting. At times I found it to be a bit technical or maybe it is just that my organic chemistry and cellular biology courses were some 30 years ago. Dr. Derry does specifically state that this is his theory based on his understanding of the current literature. I do agree that most of us are iodine deficient. One thing I have noticed in talking with other breast cancer survivors is that a large majority of us have both breast cancer and hypothyroid. Far too many for it to be statistical coincidence. Of the women I know who have had or have breast cancer at least 50% also carry a diagnosis of hypothyroidism and or fibromyalgia. I also have the fibromyalgia diagnosis and wonder how much of this is actually hypothyroid. I feel strongly enough about Dr. Derry's theory that I have begun taking supplemental iodine. I would recommend this book to anyone who is concerned about either thyroid function or breast cancer.

Eat to Beat Prostate Cancer Cookbook

As a aging single man still on a heavy urban work schedule who normally opted to eat out, this book truly helped me when I decided that at my age, I had a prostate cancer risk and I needed to watch my diet. The only way for me to get a handle of what I was putting in my mouth was to try to prepare more of my meals. This would be a challenge with all the work I have during the day but this book made the challenge much easier because many of the meals in the book are simple adaptations of standard dishes. I now feel so less gorged than when I ate out. In fact I have more sustained energy with balance nuitients. I don't get that low slump after eating the heavy carb and fat dishes one gets eating out. The recipe portions are reasonable and I'm certain I can avoid the late middle age spread that so many of my fellow countrymen suffer from. I can continue to easily get down the aisle and still fit into a economy middle airplane seat. My doctor and I are happy my cholesterol went down a bit, too.

The Cancer Survivor's Guide: Foods That Help You Fight Back

I recently purchased "The Cancer Survivor's Guide" for a course I was taking at Whole Foods Market in Sacramento, CA. I do not have cancer. I do not plan to get cancer. But then again, nobody does. My beloved, healthy, sister Debora died in 2007 from virulent cancer. I don't wish it on anyone.
While I was a patient of John McDougall in Santa Rosa undergoing his ten day program,my sister Debora was eating the "Atkins Diet." Five years later, I am alive and thriving and Debora is buried in a cemetery nearby.
Don't let this happen to you or your loved one.

I now have a weekly share of a vegetable crop in a C.S.A. farm nearby. I loved the Cancer Project Class. The recipes in this book are great. We got a chance to make several of them during the four week class. The Mashed Grains and Cauliflower on (p168) tasted great with mushroom gravy on top. I enjoyed the Black Bean Chili on (p121). I went into ecstasy over the Raspberry Salad Dressing on (p151) used on our green salad. The Sweet and Sour Stirfry on (p200) was an excellent dish and I learned to cook my root vegetables such as carrots and celery first as they take longer.
I toasted my brown rice prior to cooking it and there is a recipe for that in this book.
Enjoy the Gingered Melon(so easy to make) on (p218) as a wonderful dessert. Of course the Chocolate Mousse on (p215) is a tempting treat as well.

I wish I was courageous as the people in this book. I am not. It was hard to read. But it takes more courage to write about it as these folks do. And much more than that, is just to face it straight up. All the while not knowing if the outcome would be in one's favor. That can make for an adventurous tale. And unlike a patient, a reader is rewarded for facing it. Because at the end we will find uplight, or tears.
Any book that makes you laugh and cry is wondrous indeed.
But it is the different depths of love that are revealed in this one.

Cancer Is Not A Disease - It's A Survival Mechanism

The author describes himself as medical intuitive, but his intuition does not distinguish between reasonably established facts, total disinformation and his own interesting hypotheses. The incredible level of disinformation is mixed with his hate for the medical profession and chemistry in particular.
For example he claims that a hamburger will not deteriorate for years. So I bought a "Big Mac" from McDonalds, opened the wrapping, reclosed it and left it at room temperature in summer. After eight days it had grown three colors of mould!
"...the DNA makes use of its six billion genes to mastermind and control every single part and function of the body." Total nonsense. "Since polyunsaturated fats are manufactured and do not exist in natural form..." What is he talking about? "Manufactured vitamins (non-methylated, inexpensive junk vitamins) can rob your body of energy and actually cause the vitamin deficiencies...". Since when do all vitamins have to be methylated? Are all inexpensive vitamins junk? Do all manufactured vitamins cause vitamin deficiency and loss of energy? Give me a break. I can just imagine a little old lady asking for "methylated" vitamins in her local health food store!

Cancer Ward

Is there anything worse than living in Joseph Stalin's Soviet Union? ...unfortunately the author learned the answer to this question is: "living in Joseph Stalin's Soviet Union with cancer". I'm not a fan of medical dramas, but it would be unfair to pigeonhole The Cancer Ward as strictly a medical drama. It is much more an exploration of the lives of the different men who inhabit a 1950's era Soviet oncology ward. The men come from a mix of cultural, ethnic, and social-status backgrounds, and at times the author does use them to advantage for commentary on elements in Soviet life, but Solzhenitzen never allows the social commentary to overpower his handling of the characters. He is a cancer survivor too, and he draws heavily from his own experience. The book is at its best when showing how cancer recasts one's priorities, particularly the last several chapters, which follow Oleg after his discharge from the cancer ward. It is here that Solzhenitsen so artistically renders the world transformed through the eyes of a cancer patient.
This book is not like Gulag Archipellago, but is wonderful in its own, much more personal way. The fact that Solzhenitsyn produced both of these works is a testiment to his craftmanship as both a storyteller and a first-person historian.

Help Me Live: 20 Things People with Cancer Want You to Know

I am a clinical oncology massage therapist in a cancer center, but more importantly, I was caregiver to my first wife, whom I lost to breast cancer many years ago. The journey of survivorship can be a lonely and isolating for many reasons, not the least of which is the inability of others to understand, through no fault of their own. Unless one has been through the trauma of a life theatening illness, there is not a frame of reference one can relate to. It is beyond comprehension. A common thought expressed when I relate to survivors is that others "Don't get it." and that you don't have the energy or time to explain it to them. This book, "Help Me Live" helps to accomplish this burdensome task. It provides insight into the frightful, confusing, exhausting journey of survivorship. It gives others a "clue".
I was somewhat amused at a reviewers comments about contradictory ideas in the book. Exactly! Welcome to the world of survivorship. This can be different people with different responses or it can be one person on a different day. It can change that quickly. This is part of what's "normal" now. I use this book in my training of other massage therapist who have chosen to work with cancer patients and recommend it to all caregivers who will be working with cancer patients. I also recommed it to survivors as an affirmation of their personal experiences. All too often survivors internalize their feelings thinking the fear, the confusion, the turmoil is some sort of personal issue or failure, especially since many they try to share it with don't understand. Many find solace in recognition that they are not alone in their thoughts and feelings. I have them read it first then hand it to a caregiver so they might learn.
I believe in this book. It's a wonderful work and thank you Lori for putting it together.

BTW- A survivor is defined as anyone from the first day of diagnosis.

Breast Cancer: The Complete Guide: Fifth Edition

Betty Rollin's quote on the cover of this book sums it up: "Here are the facts -- clear, unterrifying, and important." I purchased this book for myself and my mother when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I wanted us both to be able to read about her disease and learn more about what was going to happen to her without being frightened by statistics and other people's case histories. We have both benefitted from this book because it has helped us to understand the whirlwind of activity that followed her diagnosis. The book is not a comprehensive medical reference; there are other books that do a better job of going into detail (like Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book). But as a readable "guidebook" or handbook to help patients and their families understand the steps involved in the treatment of breast cancer, this book is a very good investment.

The Human Side of Cancer: Living with Hope, Coping with Uncertainty

This book comes highly recommended. It seeks to instill a feeling of acceptance and comfort for distressed cancer patients. The author discusses how to cope with difficult emotions in all stages of cancer, from initial diagnosis and onwards. As a doc working with cancer patients myself, I cannot overstate the importance of Dr Holland's message. For example, one of her points that really stood out for me was the idea that negative emotions cannot cause the cancer. Some people do worry that they must always remain positive, even if they have to fake it. Not true...being real and honest is far more important...having occasional negative thoughts and feelings is normal and does not make the cancer worse. Dr. Holland presents these ideas in one of the most non-judgmental ways you will ever read.

The reason I only give it four stars is due to my personal bias toward a holistic perspective. The author presents a conventional approach to cancer. She does not give adequate merit to the effectiveness of natural ways to control swaying emotions, instead guiding readers directly to pharmaceuticals. In addition, her use of the food pyramid as a way to guide readers to proper nutrition is outdated. For this type of information, readers should choose other books.

Overall an excellent read for anybody dealing with cancer, directly or indirectly. I recommend it to my own clients. Genuine compassion in the medical system is in short-supply these days...Dr Holland gives us a healthy dose.

The Cure For All Advanced Cancers

At least Dr. Clark offers some education and explanation, as opposed to blind recommendations of cure. Reading her books, one at least has a starting point - what is a cell, how does it work, what is lacking... etc. At least now you know the names and her claims, and have the ability to do MORE research - is it really true that tumor cells continue to replicate because they are lacking 'breaks'? (obviously this is nothing new and a widely accepted claim). But she at least gives you a NAME for the break, so that you can take what she gives as a STARTING point to learn more. As no one has really found a 100% cure, we all must learn and research until one day we do find it (and we will).

If you have some understanding of eastern medicine, you won't find it too difficult to believe that there is at least some correlation between EXCESS and DESEASE - look at nature - wherever there is excess of food, something will be there to use it. Same in our body, when there is excess in our bodies (likely due to over-eating and STAGNANCY), something will find a way to use it. Fight stagnancy with movement, exercise, oxygen, BREATH...

Anyone curing themselves needs to realize the importance of attacking the disease from all sides. Obviously, no ONE cure has been proven. But for a patient, one of the MOST important things in a cure is VISION - being able to SEE ourselves healthy is as much a part of the cure as any external method. With her book, Dr. Clark helps us see, if just ONE way, to reduce the excess in our bodies... what's the worst that can happen? get rid of parasites, and you reduce the load on your immune system so it can concentrate elsewhere? That alone is worth it.

Call me crazy, but I feel a LOT safer using the fruits of the black walnut tree in my own back yard than I do swallowing some pill.

Cancer Schmancer

Let me start by saying I am a HUGE fan of Ms. Drescher! I have the seasons of The Nanny on DVD and have seen every episode many, many times! I love that show! I watched and liked her short-lived show "Living With Fran", and bought and read her first book Enter Whining.

However, this book just made me angry. First lets start with the cover with her "be Strong" tank top...I feel that frankly, she was not really all that strong. I don't know why she wrote the book as a "strong, cancer survivor"?? I guess that is how she feels. But, I feel that she was just a lucky celebrity. She was lucky in that she had only a small cancerous tumor, and had it removed. That was it. I don't know how she had to be all that strong. I really don't feel she had that much to do with it.

She didn't have to have emergency surgery to keep her alive. She did not have to suffer through terrible chemo and radiation, she did not have to deal with any re-occurances. Getting through all those things definately make you a strong survivor!!
All she did was be able to afford to see many, many specialists. Get star treatment by getting fast appoinments, and getting the actual doctors to call her right back. She got a private nurse at the hospital. She had servants at home. She got to take all the time she needed to recover, without worrying about the bills piling up or taking care of the kids or losing her job, or how to pay the massive medical bills...things real people deal with. What did she get to do, vacation in France!

Now, before you get on my case, I had cancer myself. I, like Fran, went many years without it being diagnosed. My cancer was very rare, and was very large, and almost killed me. I had to have emergency surgery to save my life. I was sick for many years before I sort-of recovered.
But, since I did not have to endure chemo and radiation, and I have not had any reoccurances, Thank God,... I don't consider myself a strong cancer survivor at all. I just consider myself lucky to be alive. I think Fran should have just been thankful for her good fortune, and gone on with her life rather than write this book.

When I had breast cancer in 1992, I found this book to read because I wanted to read all I could about someone else having cancer. It gave me so much comfort. The scriptures in the back were the very best and I read them over and over because they gave me a sense of peace. I have ordered and re ordered this book several times so I can give it to my friends and family when they have had to go through having cancer.

I still have my original copy and had turned to it when I had breast cancer again in 2002. Thank God I am healed today and thank God

Should I Be Tested for Cancer?: Maybe Not and Here's Why

This book is truly an eye opener. Millions of people are being screened for cancer every year, but is it really necessary? Is it really making a difference? Are people harmed by these tests in anyway?

Dr. Welch explains brilliantly, in my opinion, what these cancer screenings really mean. He argues that we are taking healthy symptom-free individuals and looking for cancer.

What most people do not know and I did not before reading his book is that:

1-There is no evidence that these screenings have actually saved lives. In fact despite increased detection of early stages of prostate cancer and breast cancer, the death rate for prostate cancer has stayed the same and the rate of late stage breast cancer has increased over a 25 year period.

2-Autopsies of people who have NOT died from cancer have shown cancer in the lungs, thyroid, kidney, etc. This means millions of people are living with cancer and die of other causes and not even know they had cancer.

3-If the screening finds cancer, it does not necessarily mean that it is the type that will grow rapidly.
a-It could regress on its own as our immune system eliminated abnormal cells, including cancers regularly.
b-It may stay the same for many years and never cause a problem
c-It may grow so slowly that cause no health problems and the person dies of something else before it does

4-Studies conducted by John Hopkins, Harvard, and others have shown that different pathologist give different diagnosis for the same tissues. They may look at the same tissue and some think it is cancer while others think it is not. Especially when it comes to the a few abnormal tissues found from screening a healthy individual.

5-Also between screenings it is possible to develop a fast growing cancer. So how often do we need to do mammograms and colonoscopies?

6-The statistics, such as the five year survival rate, are not always reliable and maybe calculated in a misleading manner.

So you have a mammogram, PSA test, colonoscopy, fecal occult test, etc done. This is what may happen:

1-You end up with a false positive, depending on the test, 10 percent false positive is the average.
2-You get the cancer scare unnecessarily.
3-This can begin a cycle of retesting, biopsies and other tests. Some can be very unpleasant and have side effects.
4-If they find an abnormal tissue, what does it mean it mean? May the pathologist made a mistake; maybe it has been there for many years; maybe it is a slow growing one; maybe it will go away on its own; maybe it is a fast growing one! Of course, your doctor can't take a chance with your health, and also does not want to get sued for malpractice, so most likely she recommends the most safest (which could be the most aggressive) course of action!

Here you were living a relatively healthy symptom-free life and now you are told you need surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy.

BUT once you or I know about they have found cancer, it is hard to know what to do, not to speak of the emotional toll. That's why Dr. Welch believes sometimes it is better not to know. However, as Dr. Welch cautions: If you have any unusual symptoms and your doctor recommends screening for cancer, make sure you are screened.

After reading the book I decided I do not need any screening. As long as I am symptom free and healthy, why put myself through tests that may or may not extend or save my life. I think as long as we don't do anything to harm our immune system, such as smoking, and do the things that enhance the immune system, such as exercise, there is no need to become a patient.

We all need to make the decision for cancer screening based on our priorities, family history of cancer, and other factors. Perhaps a good course of action is to read the book and consult your doctor for best options.

As a cancer patient, I had great hopes when I ordered this book. I had received an email from a Doctor's site I subscribed to which offered the book at an astronomical price. It had raving reviews from supposedly happy customers... it had saved their lives, etc... (reviews probably written by the writer's staff).
I was totally disappointed: there is not a single valuable piece of information in this book. It is full of outdated data, impossible to follow advice, and nothing that any intelligent person cannot find on the net.
I am glad I spent only a few dollars for this piece of garbage, I would have felt robbed if I had paid the full advertised price.

I bought this as a way to better support my husband battle a recurrence of cancer. I am a chaplain on the oncology unit of a large hospital and I would NOT recommend this book to all of my patients. I would recommend it to those who were Chrisitans or on the road to becoming Christians. The author's exclusive Christian view of life would not be helpful to our patients' that are of a different spiritual persuasion. One would think, while reading this book, that one would need to become a Christian to be either cured of their cancer or make sense of the disease. There were two good quotes near the end of the book that were useful; i.e. one about hope and the other by Chuck Swindol which I have used in my ministry with patients of all spiritual persuasions.

This is a quick, easy read with basic, valuable informative for those unfamiliar with the differences between a Western medical approach to cancer (suppress the symptoms) and a holistic one (remove the cause).

When my 8-year-old dog was diagnosed with cancer and given 6 weeks to live without surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, I instead followed the same holistic approach this book describes. Cancer is much more than a tumor. Oncology wants you to believe cancer is a lump that must be eliminated by whathever means at the disposal of the oncologist. But certainly that is neither the only nor the whole story. Something went wrong years or decades before the tumor became detectable. Epigenetic pressure destabilized our inborn capacity to replicate our cells in an orderly manner (probably due to a cell SOS reaction), and the loss of vitality led to a weakening of our immune system to the point it was no longer capable of getting rid of cancerous cells.

The first half of this book the author blasts all the orthodox organizations that have any effect on the treament of cancer. This section I scanned as I've read this criticism in many other alternative treament books and newsletters.
The second half of the book is outstanding in it's recommendations of first line, second line, etc, alternative treatments. Several of these I already use as complimentary treatments along with surgery and chemotherapy. The author's research has depth and accuracy to it as substandiated by the many other books I have read. This book seems to be the most complete. A definite read and recommendation to others.

I was reading the 1 star review. What an idiot.

The FDA is the biggest POS we have to deal with today. Big Pharma is out of control. Instead of 1 in 8000 cases of cancer each year (yesteryear) we are almost to 1 out of 2 persons getting cancer within their lifetime. BY ALL MEANS lets use the proven FDA method. Geez.

Alternative methods are the way to go. Using what our ancestors learned from the Indians for one. (Essiac Tea).

Vitamins, juices, limited (no is better) meats, herbs, etc. have been proven FAR MORE than any so called FDA or "BIG PHARMA" treatment. Chemo is poison.

This government (owned by big business) is in the business of treating cancer not curing it. The foods we eat lead to the cancers we have. Steroids in meat, chemicals in most everything produced (read the ingredients and see how many you cannot even pronounce), chemtrails (for those who are not blind), etc. Big business rules this government and our media. Try and watch a TV program without a "drug commercial"... Hell, we have drugs prescribed to deal the fungus under our toenails. Drugs are freely prescribed to children. The best "first step" to any treatment or cure is to use one's own mind.

I have cancer and while I haven't read this book (yet) I move one step closer to buying it when I see someone use the FDA or "Big Pharma" as some sort of "must do" reference.

Tropic of Cancer

This "not really a book" plot-less, stream-of-consciousness, anti-everything, self-indulgent, crudely-rudely-gimme-some-boody, was one of the novels in the 1960s that tested USA laws about pornography. It is also regarded as a masterpiece of 20th century literature. Time magazine lists it in their 100 Best English-language novels from 1923-2005. The preface is supposed to have been written by Anais Nin, but many believe Miller wrote it. I've never been as impressed with Henry Miller and Henry Miller is impressed with Henry Miller, but I do appreciate his staggering (specifically chosen word) literary talent, his abrupt/curt one-liners, and some of his intoxicated poetic rantings/ramblings.

I first read Tropic of Cancer in a teen reading club. One boy in our group insisted that it is "an awesome read" if you are falling down drunk. One girl said she got a sexually transmitted disease from reading it---and she announced that she was going to stop engaging in one night stands, even with cute guys. One girl reviewed the book with her own curt one-liner, saying that "Tropic of Cancer was confetti of seediness" in her opinion. Three of us became even more determined to become "real" writers.

Jerry Seinfeld had a successful TV show about nothing. Maybe Jerry got his "nothing" idea from Miller. In a Seinfeld episode Jerry is accused of not returning Tropic of Cancer to the library after checking it out when he was in high school.

I admit, I'm no Miller scholar, but I think I can say anything I damn well please about this novel---Henry Miller couldn't care less.

Life Over Cancer: The Block Center Program for Integrative Cancer Treatment

Dr. Block is a pioneer of integrative oncology, with about three decades of experience in cancer research and clinical care for thousands of cancer patients. For the past three years, I've followed his work with great interest, and I knew a while back that he was working on this book, so I awaited the book with eager anticipation. I bought the book the day it came out and have just finished reading it in its entirety.

Though the book has a significant shortcoming which I'll get to in a moment, it's still overall an outstanding resource. In these 500+ pages, Dr. Block explains the philosophy behind his integrative treatment approach, and he also provides abundant details on how he implements this approach for patients on an individualized basis, addressing the goals of both extending survival and improving quality of life. Because (a) cancer is a huge social problem, (b) an integrative approach makes sense, is supported by evidence, and is (hopefully) the wave of the future, and (c) Dr. Block's credentials are as authoritative as one can find, this book will hopefully have a large influence and thereby offer a major contribution to human welfare.

The primary shortcoming of this book is that it tries to simultaneously serve both patients/caregivers and physicians/researchers, but these are two audiences with dramatically different technical backgrounds, so I think that trying to find a compromise between these two audiences does somewhat of a disservice to both. In other words, I think two seperate books would have worked better.

For patients/caregivers, I think a more streamlined book would have been preferable, since the current book has the potential to be overwhelming (even with the "quick maps"), to the point where many may give up on trying to make use of the book, which would be very unfortunate. Instead, some will surely try to just go to the Block Center for treatment, but that won't be feasible for most, so they'll be left hanging unless they can find a local oncologist who's on board with Dr. Block's approach; I hope that Dr. Block will address that need in his website. As the book stands now, for patients/caregivers who are sufficiently motivated and have sufficient time, I suggest reading the book through once quickly, then reading it a second time carefully to absorb the details, and then referring to it as needed. That won't be a small effort, but the effort will be worth it, since it could add years to a patient's life if Dr. Block's advice is followed diligently.

And for physicians/researchers, I think the book is too watered down from a technical standpoint, resulting in too much "fluff" and not enough solid technical detail. This is again unfortunate because a much stronger case for Dr. Block's treatment approach could have been made if the book had been written at a higher technical level, and more details would also have helped physicians in applying this treatment approach. Of course, the Pubmed abstracts available through the website for the book are meant to address this issue, but I still think that a lot more technical information should have been included in the book itself. (The recent book Integrative Oncology (Weil Integrative Medicine Library) partly fills the need for a more technically advanced book and nicely complements Dr. Block's book, so I recommend it.)

Despite this audience-related shortcoming, again, I do think this a landmark book which has the potential to make a major contribution, so I very highly recommend it to all cancer patients/caregivers and physicians/researchers, and I wouldn't dream of giving it less than 5 stars. This is the best book on integrative oncology that I know of, and therefore one of the best books on cancer treatment that I know of.
